Senior Embedded Engineer – Team Leader

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Development Team Lead to join our IoT device development team. In this key position, you will lead the architecture and development of our new device software while managing a small team of expert embedded developers. This hands-on leadership role combines technical excellence with team management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

– Lead the architecture and design of embedded software solutions for our IoT devices

– Deliver efficient and innovation code of critical firmware components and applications

– Manage and mentor a team of experienced embedded developers. Promote technical growth and ensure alignment with project goals

– Establish best practices for firmware development and code review processes

– Drive technical decision-making for the embedded systems architecture

– Ensure optimal performance, power efficiency, and reliability of the devices

– Collaborate with a cross-functional teams, from algorithm to cloud, to align software development with product requirements

– Oversee and manage device project timelines, resources, and deliverables

– Oversee the integration of software with hardware components, troubleshoot issues, and ensure product reliability. Lead efforts in hardware verification and validation to meet quality and cybersecurity standards and certifications

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years in embedded software development, connected devices, with at least 3 years in a team leadership role.
  • Proven experience leading and managing technical team
  • Expert-level knowledge of embedded Linux development and system architecture
  • Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
  • Strong background in C/C++ programming for embedded systems
  • Experience with Arm based architecture.
  • Experience with battery-powered devices and power optimization techniques
  • Expertise in low-power wireless communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Zigbee).
  • Strong understanding of embedded security principles
  • Experience in implementing complex algorithms in resource-constrained environments
  • Knowledge of inter-process communication (IPC), multithreading, – Low-level hardware interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART)
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Nice-to-Haves:

– Background in developing products for mass production

– Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
